Mark Boot is a Senior Lecturer on the Foundation Art and Design Course at De Montfort University.
Mark is interested in the empirical exploration of the relationships between light, space, and materials, within a sculptural practice that embraces photography, video, and installation. Mark has exhibited nationally and internationally over the last twenty years, with solo exhibitions at the Leicester Contemporary Gallery, LCB Depot and the DMU Cube Space at Pheonix Square.

Recent installation work has been animated by embedding programmed circuits of RGB LEDs within the deconstructed packaging of electronic products – modulating light through ‘found’ forms and spaces in expanded polystyrene, and projecting light into the immediate environment through apertures in the cardboard components.
